David Carson is a very influential graphic designer. I love the way he used type in his work and doesn't follow the basic grid format. His work stands out it has a feeling of dirty type and not your standard helvetica style that many designers use. Just by glancing at his work it looks like art that gets you captivated into staring instead of just reading something his work makes your mind wonder. It seems like instead of making clean work he places text in interesting positions, locations, directions and sometimes removing, overlapping, or replacing text with letters or symbols. There's so much to say about his grundge style. I like how he pushes the bounds of design and tries to go outside of the norms.
