Modern Kraft Conference

To get back into the swing of things we were asked to design a poster for a graphic design conference held at the Sydney Conference & Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour called Modern Kraft. We were to design it on 600mm x 265mm with a 3mm bleed poster and make sure that it would to appeal to Professional GD's. To achieve this we were to research other graphic design posters. Once our posters were complete we had the wonderful task of criticising each others work.

I wanted to play around with type to see artistic i could be. It was said the color was good on this poster and the date format was liked. The type was a bit scattered and that I could try to condense it a little.

Here was a little guy I came up with the idea was have a logo of some sort to capture the time of the event. I wanted the type to be simple and easy on the eye. It was the most liked out of the few ideas I had come with. The only changes needed was the give it a more hand drawn feel.

For my first attempted I thought I would follow a art movement, one of my fav's would have to be Destijl. The thoughts on this was it looked to much like a Silver Chair Album cover and that it's been done, so it probable not appeal to a lot of people in the GD world.

Here is my second attempt at a more hand drawn fell with the type.

With this poster I changed the colors and tighten up the type. I think it has given it a softer look.
